Midwest Airlines' Meth-Free Cookies

Boy, so do I! Man, you guys have been posting up a storm here since I left! My better half and I flew on Midwest Airlines from San Francisco to KC and back, and they serve you the best chewy chocolate chip cookies that are baked fresh right on the plane. Regrettably for all of us, they are meth-free cookies. Since I've lived here in Sonoma County, CA, there have been news stories on and off about certain people making cookies with marijuana in them. I'll bet you can't find that anywhere in Missouri.

I remember back in the late 60's early 70's it was baked in Brownies. And I made a batch of brownies yesterday! Okay so they were marijuana free...I'm on a diet... LOL...

Well, it's nice to see everyone is so interested in cookies and have gone so off topic it's a mute point now.
I'd almost go so far as to say it proves my point. But, we all get off topic at some point in our lives so I won't say that.
I still think, at least where we live now, that there is a BIG drug/drop out/welfare problem. People either work are on welfare and do drugs, drop out of school and do drugs, or drop out of school, do drugs AND are on welfare.
I have nothing against people that honestly need a helping hand. I do have a problem when you are using my hard earned tax money to sit on your butt, do drugs and buy junk food.
BTW, if I have to be subject to random drug tests with my job, that pays for your welfare...why don't YOU have to have drug tests to qualify for welfare? Sounds like a fair trade to me.

I confess, I have no idea what a mute point is. What is obvious though is neither do you, so the point is moot.

But you did say it, as evidenced by the emboldened text above.

Thank you for quantifying that; in your original post you seemed determined to drag the entire population of Missouri under the bus. Now it's just one area, it seems. Thank goodness for small favors!

We are in complete agreement, for once.

So is it okay to sit on your hands, consume alcohol and buy nothing but certified organic? Seriously, though, I have to call you on your hard earned tax money going to help anyone, unless you're handing out cash? You stated that you made less than $13,000 last year ,and at that rate, whatever federal income tax you paid would be returned to you when you filed your taxes. Unless theres something I've missed related to Missouri state taxes, they should be minimal, and can be offset by the $66 you receive every month in aid.

Technically, there's nothing being traded in your statement. Unless you plan to have a welfare recipient take your drug test for you? But you are a welfare recipient, so color me confused.
Honestly, I can't tell if you are determined to come off as insulting, or if you are the victim of a sub par English teacher and don't know how to express yourself. Ironic, to say the least, considering your title for this thread.
There is a serious drug problem in Missouri, and many people don't pursue a higher education; when you combine those issues with a lackluster job market you have the formula for a repressed economy anywhere in Missouri or any other state. No one is arguing that point.
What I am arguing is that I wish you would be a little more conservative with your brush strokes, as your arguments tend to paint us all into a meth addicted, uneducated and unemployed corner.

Nicely put Marie'sBees! I too, think it is a shame the entire population has been thrown under a bus.
I guarantee if you spent a week at my house, you would encounter very little of "those" type of people you describe. Infact, the only ones I generally come in contact with are through my job as a first grade teacher in a community 45 minutes away from where I live.

I’m too far behind on the conversations to defend my poor spelling and grammar, but would like to add that they have recently made a big drug bust in our town. The feds came in and took out a few business men and several other less educated women and men in the community that the local officials just seem to keep letting off for what they consider petty drug offenses. The truth of the matter is that the families of those that are using drugs are hurt the worst.

Kim, sorry we had so much fun, seemingly at your expense, but, making such generalized statements like that have a tendency to cause animosity! WE are really a great group, and don't fall in the catagory of people you described...
Yes, maybe our entire country is addicted, to a lot of things - coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, etc. and the welfare system is flawed.. but don't take it out on us! We be the good guys!!
