Question Possibly Relocating To Missouri - Neosho

Hi there,
Please could you give me some info on Neosho (working) there. I'm not sure if it's suitable for a family with two young children. If it's not a great area to live in, please could you tell me a good surrounding area with good schools.
Thanks a mil in advance.

Neosho isnt bad, not sure about the schools. Joplin is about 20 minutes to the north. Its much bigger and has a great school system. Webb City and Carl Junction schools also have a good reputation.

Neosho schools are good. Accredited with Distinction, just like WC, CJ, etc. Great test scores and great administrators. Lots of good is happening down there.

Neosho is a very nice town, on the smaller side, but within easy driving distance of Joplin which has much more in the way of shopping, restaurants, etc. You can get most everything you need within the city such as mechanics, home improvement supplies, food, ect.I believe Neosho is known as the "Flowerbox City" . It has a fish hatchery (trout, I think) and several very nice parks with great playground equipment. The schools are usually ranked among the best in the area. As far as jobs, many people who live in Neosho work in Joplin, about a 20 minute drive. Neosho is a very hilly town with lots of homes on sloping lots. There is a moderate Hispanic population due to area chicken farms and a surprisingly large number from Micronesia. Just outside Neosho is rolling farmland. I know several people who live there and they really enjoy it. I believe it would be a good town to raise a family in. Hope this helps!

The reason you can't find a list of schools "accredited with distinction" is because that no longer exists. They changed that name about 5 years ago. Even though the criteria is the same, it's now called "Distinction in Performance" The 2007-2008 schools receiving the honor can be found online: http://www.dese.mo.gov/divimprove/si...nceSchools.pdf

Joplin, Webb City and Carl Junction are all on the list.
