We'd like to find 3-5 acres of wooded land to rent for a few months in the winter in Southern Missouri...Ozarks if possible. Close to some town or other, not in the middle of nowhere. Anyone out there know where we could find some. We have 2 dogs that are well behaved, but make it hard to camp in a regular camp grounds. It wouldn't be steady, but a week here and there and we would not do any damage to anything. email me: weicht AT centurytel DOT net Thanks.

There is lots of national forest land here in southern mo. You can camp anywhere you want for free. You can get a map from the NFS for the Mark Twain NF and find all the places the forest is located.

All Missouri state parks allow leashed dogs. Why would they pose a problem?

Most people will be wary. They might think you are gonna set-up a meth lab. You could look around and by a piece of ground under one of those no money down owner finace deals that are around. I personaly don't know of any at this time.

I'll have to look around and see if there is someplace that we could buy.... I'll look for no money down and owner financing... Most Real Estate Agents don't want to help because there's not enough money in it for them. Two of our dogs were our cow dogs before we retired and they are not used to being on a leash. They mind us real well and never run away...they come when we call them...but even if we trained them on a leash, I don't think they'd be very comfortable on it.... However I will check out the state parks. I'm beginning to think, the best idea would be for us to buy a few acres. Thanks for all the feedback.
