I succeeded! Maybe someday I can give you four at a time! Out here I think our MH park and its homes would be most at risk from a large earthquake. At least it's situated on many concrete blocks.
It's interesting how the media always reports on how twisters destroy mobile homes as if they're akin to cruise missiles locked and on target or something! Today's modulars are built pretty sturdily.

The trailers I have seen in Missouri are generally only in the Ozark region, and that is because the landscape is quite poor...the soil is not rich for growing crops like the rest of the state, and I guess the lifestyle is more laid-back and slow since it is hard to make a living in those regions. People living in those areas generally don't have much money and are dirt poor. In the parts of Missouri that are not in the Ozarks and in the cities, trailer parks are pretty uncommon. I've never seen any around St. Louis except just past Six Flags in Franklin County along Interstate 44. That is technically the beginnings of the Ozark foothills.

Hey, River Wood! Of course, we don't mind!
Heck, most of us are transplants...and the rest of us are hangin' OUT with transplants! Sheesh! You fit right in!
Come on in, grab a glass of sweetened iced tea and post to your heart's content!

I live in a manufactured home...its NICER then half the stix built ones...in the area. It is NICE, clean affordable living for someone like me, who is raising a grandchild on disability pay. My home isn't exactly 'little'...I have 1280 square foot of living space....situated on 1.1 acre of wooded land, in a very very very safe environment for my child to go out and play in. With LOW taxes...and no pollution or crime. What more could one ask for?

The zoning limits them. Most of the remaining parks have been sold over the years due to rising land values.

Right on, you two! Oh! Welcome to the forum, Befigard! I am so happy to see people living within their means. This world is heading in a wrong direction and there are going to be a lot of people who will lose their homes because they didn't do that. It has become "the fashion" to work so hard to get all the stuff that you haven't got time to actually enjoy the stuff! But you two have chosen a great life for your families. Hooray!

I have noticed that too. Back east, there was a strong emphasis on having a big, fancy house, and often those houses are on very little plots of land. Here, people seem to take more pride in owning a lot of land.
