Those license plates lasted all the way into the mid 1990s, where they then switched to the license plates I am so sad to see go, at least only because the new state license plate seems kind of bland. You would think a state like Missouri could come up with a better license plate design.

I just recently started to see the new plates and they have no originality and the blue bird is usually covered up by those things that go around your plate. And around here if you want a different plate it costs quite a bit of money.

And they look exactly like Kentucky unless your right there
These are kind of sad. Why cant we have something like Arozonas or New Mexicos plate.

I agree that they're ugly, but I think most states are ugly. People complained when the old new ones came out in the 90s, but they got over it quickly enough, and I'm sure this time we will too.

Current/Recent U.S. Issues

Here's a link letting you compare and contrast the current license plates of all 50 states, including Missouri's from the mid-'90s to early 2008. I think Wyoming's shows a lot of creativity!

They're kind of plain, but I can't stand plates with too much color and design, to the point where you can hardly read them. I hate when they go to flat letters too. Nebraska is a good example - their plate look so fake and too busy. The new Kansas plates are good though.

WELL !! you asked which People Perfered. For my self ( don't get mad me this is true!) I don't like either , or any for that fact. I make my own. And I don't use any of the plates that the differant D.M.V.'s say that We AMERICANS must contract with them and use, plus pay them for that use . See constitutionaly we have a right to travel , And that some of those that inforce this US. Try to say the right to travel is a privelage controled by them . Funny thing though I travel the UNITED STATES without Plates on my Truck or Trailer and although I some times get stopped and questioned as to why my Vehicles don't have the plates they thought were required upon reading the documents i show them explaining why they allow me to continue on my way.

I'd agree with the "plain" comment. And for me, the font seems to me to be more appropriate to a state a little farther south...
