What do you think of the new Missouri license plates?
No need to repeat the question, the title says it all. Personally, I think the new license plate is embarrassing. I liked the old one better with the nice blend of blue, green, and white to it. This new one to me is just too plain...white and blue and while it does have a picture of the state of Missouri on a map it really doesn't attract me. I say more color and detail is necessary. What's your opinion of the new plates?

I agree, that doesn't look very good, I'm fond of our current plate. Also, it looks just like Kentucky's plate.

They changed some details of the plate since the license plate contest, where Missourians could choose between three designs! OK, the bluebird at the bottom is the same, and that's what attracted me to these plates. However, the "Missouri" font has been changed from a more bold all-capital letters appearance, and "Show Me State" (notice the lack of a hyphen between "Show Me") has been moved from the bottom by the bluebird to the top.
It too closely resembles Kentucky's, I agree. Maybe this is a backhanded way to encourage people to choose one of the many different personalized plate designs instead.
Not to pile on California yet another time, but California's plates are even more dull than this!

That new plate does look weird. Here in florida we have like 150 different plates to pick from. That is the other side of the plate madness. I think I liked the Mo. plate they had before the blue, white, and green one better.

lol, I don't see any [besides the colour scheme] similarities between KY's and MO's plates...
KY has a horse [at top of plate], MO a bird [at bottom of plate]
KY has county name in a bold block, where MO has the blue bird in that location
KY semi-rectangular outline has a small bootheel on left lower side, MO's kinda squarish has larger bootheel on right lower side
KY has white holes, MO has black holes
Alright, seriously, its ok IMHO - I like the attempt to "spice" it up some, yet... I dunno 'the rivers run' is my favourite, maybe cause I love the moving waters of our streams.
As to the FL plates - wow, that is a lot of choices. When younger bro went there, I gazed upon the multitude of various plate selections... some quite ones that are available [cougar, manatee, etc.].

The placement of the year tab looks odd to me. Is that where it goes now? Easier for police officers to see, I am assuming.

Less likely to have plate removed/stolen/tampered also, I imagine.
Years back, after that year sticker moved to outer edge location, had one of my plates [the front one] stolen - when inquired when I reported it, was told that many many complaints of such, and it was happening cause some would cut that section of their old, expired plate, put the new, updated section on, and the coppers wouldn't know any difference [at least from a distance]. As long as the number/letter of both plates matched the same, they'd then have a 'new' plate, at no cost to them besides time of cutting/stealing. These were also being sold on the underground market to those that wanted 'em... Note: what can help prevent this, even on the newer plates - remove the old stickers, and then after you place the new sticker on there, make some diagonal cuts/slice, like what they do at stores. Can also put a clear cover over the plate, making it a bit more time involved for the perp to do their nasty dead.

Right now I'd be happy to have a MO plate of any kind. Now give me a year or two to form an opinion but I'll still keep it to myself as long as I can keep on fishing. Seems like the last time I had a MO plate it was a burgundy with white letters. That was in a previous like back in the 70's. They were really plain if I remember correctly.

The bird needed to be bigger. Even when you are stopped in traffic directly behind you cannot make out what the little blob is in the middle of the plate, on the bottom. You literally have to be less than three feet away from it to make it out clearly.
Other than that it doesn't matter a fig to me. I usually get some kind of special plates anyway, because I like to be "special" LOL
