I miss the changing weather and the extremes...a lot! It has been hot and sunny nearly every day here since May. The few days that it has been cloudy have been amazing, just because it is something different. I love how MO feels and looks totally different in each of the 4 seasons.

You know the old saying, if you don't like the weather in Mo, give it a couple minutes, it will change. Winter in KC can get down right frigid some years. Summers can be down right miserable. But I wouldn't live anywhere else , the weather keeps life exciting. Sometimes winters can be very snowy, kids will be out of school on the average 3 times in the winter due to bad road conditions, and if the wind chill is forecast below 0, they will close the schools for the safety of the kids that have to wait at the bus stops. The main reason they close schools when it snows is also for the safety of the kids that are transported by bus. Ice Storms are a whole other story! They can shut down the whole city, basically due to electric failure. Been a few years since we had a good ice storm. The last one, the city looked like a war zone. Trees and limbs everywhere. Friends of ours were without electricity for 2 weeks. Severe thunderstorms in the spring and summer don't bother me. It's the heat and humidity that can get unbearable. That's why we have AC and swimming pools to cool down. Or we go to the lake every weekend trying to escape the heat and the "cabin fever" feeling. Just think, without that heat and humidity we wouldn't have all those wonderful tomatoes in the summer!

Missouri weather, probably due to Missouri being located in the middle of the country, has many extremes. At the same time, Chicago will probably have a lot more snow, which is a hassle to many people.

No place has perfect weather. Any place that does, I can't afford to live there.
