DARING ROSEDALE HOLDUP

Frank Turner of Turner Bros. grocers in Rosedale, was held up in his store at 9:30 last evening by three young men and robbed of $75 in cash. About 9:30 last evening Mr. Turner was alone in the store and busy working on his books when he was disturbed by a man who gruffly told him to hold up his hands. As he looked up he found himself facing a pistol.
The young man held the pistol on him while a confederate entered the store and took all of the cash. Then they backed slowly out of the door, after telling Turner to face the wall.
Mr. Turner was unable to give a description of the men, as they had their faces masked. One was short and stout and the other two were tall and slim. Station Agent Peckham, of the Memphis, said three men answering that description had been at the depot several evenings last week and he had seen them walking up and down the streets of the city.
Shortly before midnight the officers of No. 4 station on the southwest boulevard arrested William Weston and locked him up on suspicion of being implicated in the robbery. He answers the general description of one of the men.

SORORITY HOUSE RUMMAGED

An attempt to rob the Delta Delta Delta sorority house at an early hour this morning was probably averted by the awkwardness of the thief who dropped the silver on the floor as he was leaving by way of a dining room window. The noise is thought to have frightened him so that he escaped without stopping to pick up his haul.
Miss Marvel Smith was awakened at 3:30 this morning by a crashing sound on the first floor. She got up and went into the room of Mrs. Ed Howard, chaperon of the sorority, and found that Mrs. Howard had heard the same noise. A number of the girls were awakened, but no one went downstairs to investigate. This morning part of the silver was found on the dining room floor near a window and the remainder was on the ground outside the window.

TWO SUSPECTS AT JOPLIN

Shortly after the kidnaping of young Edward Cudahy at Omaha, five men came to Joplin, and were immediately spotted by the police from the large amount of gold exhibited in various saloons and gambling houses. It was learned that the aggregate of gold possessed by two members was something over $14,000. They were arrested while engaged in a quarrel among themselves.
The three arrested gave the names of Johnson, McNeil and Wilson. No case was found against Wilson and he was released, but Johnson and McNeil were given a 20-day sentence in order to allow the police to investigate.
The description of Pat Crowe and that of Johnson tally. A Joplin barber, who worked in south Omaha, identified one of the men as a former employee of the Cudahy Packing Co. in that city.

Bishop's family live in St. Louis.
Bishop's alias was W.M. Burns. The date set for the execution, Aug 30, having expired pending appeal, Governor Beckham will fix a new date in issuing the death warrant.
