Calvert Hall '62 - our man includes the older thugs - the thugs of the turn of the century - to include the modern thugs will take a switch of energy of sorts. The modern thugs are a thug of their own calling and their own ownership - think about what you want and include it in here. Then we'll learn as we go!

STABBED SEVEN TIMES

In a fierce conflict with Clarence Miller in front of the power-house of the St. Louis Transit Company, at Vista and Tiffany avenues, Thursday afternoon, Harry Schumacher, a boilermaker, living at No. 3723 Rutger street, was stabbed seven times. Miller escaped after the cutting. Schumacher was taken to his home, where Doctor Fleming of No. 921 Manchester avenue examined his wounds and pronounced them dangerous.
Schumacher said he does not remember how the quarrel started. He received a 3 inch gash in the left forearm, one 2 inches long in the left shoulder. In the left side he received a 14 inch cut plus one 6 inch cut and two 2 inch cuts. He was also stabbed in the middle of the back and in the neck.

The Marshall Republican September 9, 1910

UNCLE SAM ROBBED

East bound C&A passenger train No. 12, passing Marshall at 12:31 midnight, throws off a mail pouch at the depot which the night man throws into the baggage room till morning then Robertson & Co. take it to the post office. The pouch Sunday night disappeared and was found Monday morning west of the depot, cut opened and rifled. The agent was busy when it arrived and did not go after it at once, giving someone a chance to get in his work. We are told the mail was not heavy, yet some people who are in the habit of sending cash by mail are no doubt wiser and poorer.
