Question Jefferson City Neighborhoods

HELP........AM THINKING ABOUT MOVING THERE AND WAS INTERESTED IN THE LAYOUTS OF THE DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOODS AND THE LAYOUT OF THE TOWN. I WAS THERE AS A SMALL CHILD BUT REALLY DON'T REMEMBER A LOT. WHAT STREETS ARE CONSIDERED THE DOWNTOWN AREA. LOOKING AT A MAP I PRETTY MUCH KNOW THE NAMES OF THE STREETS BUT NOT THE NEIGHBORHOODS. I UNDERSTAND THE TOWN IS MOSTLY WHITE WITH ETHNIC GROUPS LIVING AROUND THE COLLEGE. WHAT AREA OF THE CITY (WHICH STREETS??) IS MOSTLY BLACK? DO THE DIFFERENT ETHIC GROUPS GET ALONG? IN WHAT AREAS DO THE UPPER CLASS LIVE AND WHAT AREAS ARE MIDDLE AND POORER CLASS. I AM TRYING TO GET ALL THE INFORMATION I CAN BEFORE I COME FOR A VISIT. HOPING TO MAYBE BUY A HOME.

In adding to my post I'd also like to ask about the city, culture wise......
education, religion, politics...........I am spiritual, not religious, I'm open minded, intelligent and definitely not conservitive. I live in the South now and have learned to fit in, but was raised in Chicago. Is Jefferson City like where I live or is it more midwest???..........so come on folks, good or bad.....tell me about your city!!!

Since no one answered you I will. You may want to try Columbia instead. Jefferson City is ultra conservative and highly religious(mostly Catholic and Baptist). This is a great place to raise a family and settle down, if you are looking for something else...keep looking!
As for where the money lives-traditionally it's the west end, but that is changing a little as people move towards smaller school districts. Middle class is everywhere, that is JC. Lower income traditionally is the center of town and east end, although if you go farther east, there is a lot of growth and new home building going on there.
