Default Crimes..

Hello again,
Another question.
I was looking in the Lake Ozark area and when I did a search in City-Data. The crimes of rape, assault, burglaries, theft and auto theft are high.
Is there something I am missing here?
Can someone from the area please explain.
Thanks Kerry

I think it is due to the summer influx of people that don't live there year round at the lake and throw in a Meth head or two.

Please remember that just one crime in a low-population area drives up the crime index rating far more than that same crime would in a highly populated area.

When looking at crimes I differentiate between violent crimes and property crimes. Violent crime areas I avoid. For property crimes there's Smith & Wesson.

I am looking at property in a transitional area in Kentucky on a small lake, The biggest crime there is theft of the electrical wires and copper plumbing, parents had property years ago on Rough River in ky and they had problems with theft, when you have houses left unattended, you can expect this activity. It would help to have a security service in place. That would deter that problem of theft and the service is reasonable.

Please remember that "Party Cove"at Lake of the Ozarks was listed as one of the top 10 places in the country to party a couple years ago.

Drunk girls in bikinis (or less) + drunk guys = trouble

Whats Bad is it seems alot of Party Covers see to think they can do the same in my neck of the woods on the Niangua River.Go down there in the Summer wanting to fish an't nothing for them Girls to be all messed up,wanting to mess around, flashing every so often. But the Law has been cracking down on them last couple years.

Yes I believe alot of the crime is brought in with tourist in the Summer.
