I like the stone steps leading up to it! Is this duplex located anywhere near Broseley....or right in Broseley?

When I was a kid, each time our family would go for a drive through the countryside, my father would point out the round barns and tell us about the fellow who went crazy in one. Seems he had to relieve himself and couldn't find a corner. Hee Hee. This is the same man who would treat us to ice cream cones and give us a choice of flavors, plain, white or vanilla. God rest his soul.

Missouri Ruralist published a book with photos of Missouri barns that is VERY NICE! You might want to get a copy of that to enjoy. Also, we have two "round" barns in the area I live in: first one is just west of Stockton, Missouri on US 32 about 4 miles (east side of highway on a curve), second, just north of Taberville Missouri on H Highway about 4-5 miles (south of Appleton City Missouri) and is also on a curve. Very interesting structures. I had an art teacher in 1970 that encouraged me paint barns since she could envision their future disappearance.

I love the old barns too. We have made an offer on a 7 acre farm in NW Missouri, I took several pictures of the old red barn on the property, but I better wait to post the pictures after we close on the property.

Oh sounds nice. Yeah probably a good idea. Are you from Missouri or moving to?

Sadly, it is expensive to upkeep old barns. I have two that probably need to be torn down but I cannot bear to do it yet . I was able to hire contractors re-hab one "old barn" earlier this year and the carpentry/paint costs for the 70 yr. old wood barn came close to what it would have cost to have a new metal "pole barn" built. Wish I knew how to post photos so I could share the "before & after" .
I love that "log cabin" style barn photo. I've seen a few near Bland MO like that. Sure would be nice to be able to move one and make a proper "guest cabin" out of one! That round barn is a real find, thanks for sharing!
