Red face Monett, MO Nice place to raise kids?

We are looking at property near Monett, MO. Any opinions on the town, schools, activities offered, downtown? Problems? My husband does carpentry/concrete type work. Is the area growing enough to support his work? Any feedback would be appreciated...

Monett, Mo is a rural town. It does have a super walmart, cinema, several restuarants and old style downtown. Has a small Cox affiliated hospital. Has Golf Course and city park with city activities. It has an industrial base to it and the city is experiencing some growth. There is new housing being built. It is about 45 - 1 hour away from Springfield to the East and the same to Joplin to the west. Recreational spots such as Branson, Eureka Springs are south respectively. The schools I am not sure but here is a link http://hs1.monett.k12.mo.us/ for any information it may provide.

I grew up there, pretty decent small town. There has been a fairly large Hispanic influx due to various Tyson's operations and that has caused some issues in what used to be a fairly homogeneous population.
