Caves
We are coming in June and my daughter loves looking at caves. I know MO has several. Can anyone tell me the best caves to see around Springfield, MO.

Fantastic Caverns is a drive thru cave north of Springfield. But if you really want to knock her socks off, go to Marvel Cave.
Marvel Cave is part of Silver Dollar CIty, a major theme park near Branson. It is a little pricey (about $50 per person I think) but if has 15-20 major rides, shops, train rides, shows, and is all situated in an absolutely gorgeous setting of trees. Everything , including all of the employes, are themed to the 1800's
Marvel Cave is part of the park, and gives tours every half hour. It is a HUGE cave, and it takes about 45 minutes to walk through. It's the real thing - part of the park serveice, and not modified in any way. It has a waterfall inside, and plenty to see.
She would really enjoy it.

That's great to know. I would have never thought about that cave, just because it's part of Silver Dollar City.
Thanks.

I went to the Silver Dollar City's web-site. It's really expensive, but it looks like a blast. Any idea's on how to get discount coupons??

They often offer a few discount coupons, but not that much ($5 I think).
Let me know what dates you are coming. My wife and I always get season passes, and they give us free guest passes, which we rarely use. If you are going to be here when I am in town, maybe we can figure something out.

The Caves in Missouri are absolutely amazing!...that was one of my favorite things to do was check out the Caves. We went to Onondaga Cave State Park in Leasburg, MO. It's a bit of a way from Springfield though...but nonetheless...amazing!
There is another close by to it called Meramac Cave...we went to it but decided not to go in...reason being...it reminded us of a Vegas Casino inside....you just had to see it to understand.
Here are some pics I shot of inside Onondaga Cave from this past summer :
Have fun on your Cave excursion!!
