rtt....good advice from ShadowCaver, (as usual) Placing an ad may be just what to do. Also, you may want to google: 'Hermann Mo Realtors. Many listed there. I will send a DM to you also. Good luck to you.

Thank you ShadowCaver, for your information. I have been emailing one of the agents from a Real Estate Company but really need to actually call her. Have emailed the Chamber of Commerce but need to call them also.
What I really need to do is stay in Hermann for a few days and visit with these people.
Again, thank you for your response.
I very much like your quote from Sun Bear.

NWY, also thanks to you - as always you have been very helpful. I just really need to stay in Hermann for a bit. It's not enough to try emails and phones.
But I will try calling some of the Realtors. I've been in touch with an agent from one of them but need to take it further.
Again, thank you

Well, I have stayed in Hermann for 3/4 days, wandering around the town, talking with people.
People are so nice! I talked with "transplants" as they call themselves and who are so glad they moved to Hermann. I talked with people who were born there. I looked at a few rental houses - not very many available to someone with 3 little dogs. Can't blame them. Found a realtor and looked at a few houses. I so like my realtor, she is more like a friend. Went to lunch with her.
Love the older homes, the historic homes.
So now I am back home but still liking Hermann. Big decision. Think I want to move instead of rent.
Which is not very smart, I know.
Guess I'm thinking out loud to all of you. Thanks for "listening".

rtt.....Since you have spent some time in Hermann and spoke with so many different people, like your Realtor and now have a pretty good idea of the town, I personally do not see anything wrong with wanting to move. I have known people who have just researched a town/city ad went on line to find a Realtor and a new home, bought and moved and was quite happy with their decision. I say good luck to you and wish you the very best.

I was in St. Louis 2 weeks ago and was listening to 1380. Jim Edmonds called in and he was looking at farms in Herman, MO.

oops, sorry I did not see your posts!
Well, I have rented a place in Hermann, beginning May 1st. I am excited, yet a little scared. But I really want to do this.
I would never had the courage to do this without help from you all. We shall see what happens. If I really fall in love with the town, then I will move. But I am glad I'm renting first.
Thank you NWV and bls555 for your comments.!!

rtt....you are more than welcome. I am excited for you and this adventure.
And that is what it is in many ways. Again, I admire your courage and 'spunk'. Yes, please let us know how things go. Maybe keep a daily journal and photos as the days go on. Then post here some of your experiences. It will be interesting. Good Luck to you and Good Karma for you and your fur babies.

Hey, ShadowCaver: would be happy to post my adventures in Hermann. Am going in with an
open mind, I hope. No place is perfect. Hermann is, I have read, having problems with the electric company. I am trying to keep up with this on "Hermann Munster". According to what I have read, Hermann could be in trouble. But I never believe everything I read.
Does anyone have any other info on the electric utility company and a lawsuit (?) against it.? I am trying to understand what is going on but it gets a little hairy. Have read where, if the worst happens, Hermann could be in for a rough time.
Hey NWY, thanks!
