Default Best/Worst Economies In Missouri

Missouri's economy as a state is certainly not the best in the nation, nor is it the worst. In your opinion, which city/region in Missouri is fairing the best during the recession and which is suffering the most.

From what I've read, I would say the Columbia area is doing the best. And it looks like the SE region near the bootheel has the highest unemployment. But I was just wondering if others agree or have somewhere else in mind.

Yes I like Columbia area as far as Jobs but you have high cost of living to go with it.

St.Louis is good.Then I would say Springfield.Then Kansas City.

I'm 50 miles North of Springfield and there is nothing here.Me I'm thinking of putting Livestock on my place to help out durring the hard times to come.Heck if I can't Trade it I'll eat it.

I work in IT, and still get calls from recruiters in Saint Louis, so at least for my industry it still seems to be doing ok. I get nothing from Kansas City, which is strange.
