For the past few hours we have had some interesting thunderstorms. So much lightening and thunder. Then the downpour. The winds were blowing the tall trees around here rather fiercely. Just rain now.

We might go more than three days w/o rain - woohoo!
I heard the storm come in last night and just laid in bed
listening for the sirens. But they weren't severe, thankfully.

Some thunder, lightning and a nice shower in the wee hours this morning. My dadgum rain gauge is broken so I don't know how much moisture we received. Needed it. Thank you, Lord.

Well, if you find you have any extra could you send it our way? It was about 104˚ yesterday, may reach 106˚ today and is dry as a bone!

This year it's beden lillies and more lillies! There are daylilies EVERYWHERE, even where they don't belong, like along I70! But this is what I love about Missouri --- you can get flowers out of a freakin fireplug!
We're moving up to Boonville from Texas. It's a real struggle to get any flowers to grow here with the heat and the wind. It blows me away how things flower in Missouri!

You are so right, cymbalom. A few years ago I always enjoyed the wild violets that grew along the state highway near where I live until one day I observed an elderly couple crawling along the bank and picking as many of these beauties as possible. Sadly, now there are no more flowers to enjoy.

OK I'm freezing again this morning (well almost) out in California with another chilly 36 degree overnight low temp.
I miss the warm nights!
