Default Nevada Missouri & surrounding areas

I'm from Pensacola Florida, and have been looking at homes in the Nevada area. It looks like a wonderful, quaint town. I am originally from Kentucky & want to live in a small town setting like Nevada appears to be. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not that familiar with Nevada, although I have been through there several towns. Have you visited yet? I always thought Lamar was a cute, "quaint" little town. Inside the city limits is only 4,000 but there is a large rural population. It is about 22 miles South of Nevada off of 71 hwy. It is about the same distance to Carthage if you go farther South. So although it is small, there are larger towns within a 40 mile radius (including Joplin ). One of the nice things about Nevada, is that 69 hwy (on the Kansas side) is only about 15-20 minutes West and goes straight North into KC/Overland Park. The hwy is being renovated as we speak and it looks real nice. I prefer that route than 71.

I have visited Nevada several times. It seems to be a very nice town IMO. What did you need help with, or were you just looking for opinions? I will say, the antique shopping out that way is super! Nevada is small but has all the amenities you would need, right on hand. I am also very fond of El Dorado Springs, which is about 20 minutes east of Nevada.
