Hello,

I am considering a weekend getaway to Hannibal for all the usual historical reasons. I just discovered that I only live 3 hrs away (with the Avenue of the Saints all completed) and thought to myself "this place has some national significance, I should probably visit before I move away."

The question is this: Is Hannibal just another tourist trap, or are there enough (semi) hidden / non-touristy places to go and things to do?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? If giving the green light, any particular places to go, stay, or things to do?

Many thanks,

Stu

Hannibal has many antigue stores.
Wal-mart & Goodwill are really the only large stores.

Many historical things to do B&B's as well. Take the trip, it will be worth it.
