A fraud? How so? I've told you the truth. I'm just a Georgia native, a recent (relatively speaking) transplant to Missouri who is working hard to adapt to the ways of the Ozarks.

You honestly need it spelled out again?
You are consistent at telling others to not move to Missouri because of the "Ozark" time zone, lack of shopping, trashy neighbors etc. etc.
You are well known for heckling those who once they move here have the gall to complain about the Ozark time zone, lack of shopping, trashy neighbors etc.
THEN you turn around and post this...
Inoxkeeper, as an old Georgia-born Southern boy transplanted relatively recently to the Missouri Ozarks, let me unveil my comments. I have to say you natives have certainly not done much with the state. The ditches are full of trash. The roadsides are littered with dead armadillos. And are you one of those natives who operates on Ozarks time? Have to stop and do a little fishing every now and again, do you? Got a satellite dish on the ole double-wide, too? Chew a little "terbacky" and have to spit after every sentence?
That make it pretty clear that your are a fraud. You can't come on here and tell folks to buck up, no shopping, no big deal, trashy? Too bad, should have noticed that before you moved while at the same time whining about those very same issues yourself. (see example above AGAIN!)
BTW, I am still waiting for you to address your comments about me personally living in a doublewide and being a "terbacky" user. Those are condescending remarks that are an insult to any native Missourian. I encourage you to get face to face with a doublewide living, terbacky using native Missourian (if you can find one) to share those feelings. Let me know how that goes will ya, make sure to pad the seat of your pants prior so you will have something soft to land on when you get knocked on your ass.
In my book you're classless, a fraud and a hypocrite. Frankly I don't think you deserve the OB moniker (another example of being a fraud, you are not an Ozark Boy if you are from GA!) and I resent the fact that you have taken it upon yourself to attempt to be some sort of gatekeeper saying who will and won't be successfull in Missouri.
It sounds to me like YOU hate Missouri and are taking it out on those would dare consider moving here.
PS, this is coming from someone who has defended your comments in the past. I won't make that mistake again I promise you that!
PSS, it appears many agree with me! I have gotten several "rep points" for this post in the short time it's been up! Put that in your hypocritical pipe and smoke it!

The way I read it, OB was being facetious and not attacking you personally.

That's your opinion and it differs from mine and several others on this board.
Proof is in the pudding, he slammed me and all other natives with his comments.
From Georgia Boy "And are you one of those natives who operates on Ozarks time"
Keep drinking the cool aid, someday you will see the light!

I think you'll do ok in Mansfield. If anything being so far from your kids will be your Waterloo. That's another kettle of fish though.

still waiting
Anyway, I think it will be an interesting place to learn about cattle farming, haying, and gardening and canning,...we bought 64 acres. The beauty of the land is breathtaking...it speaks to my soul, and to my husband's soul. We just stand in the field by the house and look at the view, and are spiritually lifted to a place of indescribable peace.
We definitely will have some different political opinions, but that's America. Violence and prejudice against any group does bother me though. My strong liberal streak get's really stirred by that. I think of Mark Twain, though...guess he was able to fit in.
Tambre, You said exactly what I feel . We have found the perfect place around Cameron but we need to sell our house 1st . The land speaks to me as well. Wish we could be neighbors. Trying to be patient...

Where are you moving from Mo Wannabe? This real estate market is the pits. What are you looking to buy in Cameron? Some land, or a farm? We're trying to sell too, for over a year now, although we've had the house off the market for the winter. Silvermouse, thanks for the vote of confidence.

I think you'll do just fine in Mansfield too. The area is more diverse than many stereotype it to be. Besides, we'd all be very boring people if we surrounded ourselves with others with carbon-copy ideals!

Tambre, We live N of Phx. Yes I know it's the worst time ever to sell your house . Yes the market is bad here too. Oddly, we are optimistic about it and the time feels right to make the move. We found a 122 yr old farmhouse on 77 acres. Want to run cattle. Husband is from Iowa originally, me from Ohio.
