its pretty small, there isn't much but local cafe food. Ozark is 10 minutes away, with quite a few choices of food, and then the mall in Springfield is another 10-15 minutes further.
dont get me wrong, its nice out there, we almost moved there ourselves a few years ago, but its a typical small town with small town stuff.

Dean has summed it up well. The only other piece of input that I would add is that you are likely to get more feedback about the area by posting in the Springfield subforum.

The drive down 125 south of Sparta down to Bradleyville is amazing!

There really is no shopping in Sparta. They have a Dollar store and such, but that's about it. They have a couple of Cafe's and they just finished the Subway restaurant last fall. I don't recall ever seeing a motel there either. The outskirts of Ozark isn't but about a 5 minute drive, where you would have access to several additional restaurants and stores, and probably a motel. It's a nice quaint little town, IMHO.

There's no Starbucks, no mall for "serious shopping," no art museum, no performing arts center, no Trader Joes or Whole Foods Market. It's an uncivilized place that needs people like you to move in, so a market for those places can be developed.
