Does anyone in the Cooter area have any idea why a memorial stone was erected after World War II to honor US Army Capt. Lawrence E. Cooper, Jr., a Vanderbilt Medical School graduate and son of Dr. Lawrence E. Cooper and Ethel Cooper? The memorial remained at an ammunition depot in the town of Hohenbrunn, Germany for about 60 years before it was moved to a local cemetery because the ammunition depot was closed and turned into an industrial park.

I should have said that Dr. Lawrence E. Cooper, Sr. and his wife, Ethel were Cooter residents and ran a medical practice, and that Capt. Lawrence E. Cooper Jr. grew up in Cooter.
