How many people have moved from Tennessee to SW Missouri, and how do you like the change? My family and I live in Georgia just south of Chattanooga, Tn. We like the climate here for the most part (wouldn't mind a little more snow) and we love the mountainous terrain, but we are considering a move to the Springfield, Mo. area in order to be closer to family.

I moved to Springfield from Nashville. It was a big shock at first..
It probally took me around 4-6 months to adjust. But once I did
I wouldn't move back. I really love it hear. The people are friendly
cost of living isn't too bad, lower than Nashville was. Any more questions
feel free to ask, been here for a little over 12 years now.

Thank you very much for the reply. What would you say was the hardest thing to adjust to? The weather, people, way of life, or was it just everything in general? Would you say that it is more humid over there than it is in this area? Thanks again.

As you know Nashville is a big place and lots of country music plus when
I was there they had Opra Land. I came here on vacation and wound
up eventually getting married. When I was there I was used to the
night life of Nashville. So I think it was more of an adjustment of getting
married and not having that night life I was used too. We do have a
higher humidity here than over there in Tn. I adjusted to that just fine
in fact real easy. Eventually I learned my way around and I probally
would have a really hard time adjusting to Nashville now and the same
with Chattanooga. We do a lot of Camping around here and in fact
the kids even moved down here from Minnesota. Branson and the
surrounding area's have a lot of vacation and camping (NICE) spots
within a thirty to sixty minute drive and it's like your in a entirely different
environment in the outlying area's.

Anymore questions, will be glad to answer them.

Wow! Thank you for all the detail on the area, it is a big help. I am very glad to hear about the good camping down there. My family and I absolutely love to go camping and boating, and it his so hard to find good campgrounds and clean lakes around here. The first I went swimming in Nickajack Lake I broke out with a bad bacterial infection on my skin, it went away until a few weeks later when I swam in the Tennessee river! It had come back worse and was a very miserable experience to say the least. Anyway, thanks again for all the help.

Guess what the kid's came over tonight and we have scheduled our
first camping trip of 2007 for the sixth of april. Going down to
just a little south of Branson this time. Taking the boat knowing
the water is too cold for swimming but it will be fun and relaxing.

Guess this week end is off! COLD WEATHER COMING IN not for the
lake setting. Guess we get to re-schedule! Can't depend on the weather
here. It's close but not always the way you expect it to be.
