Default Location of Jackson county birth records

Looking for the phone and address to access Jackson County Birth Records.

Also looking for old phone directories for the years 1955-1965. Looking for the name Albert K. Jacka. I believe he was working for the Standard OIl Co in Sugar Creek.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Midcontinent Library, Independence branch has lots of help for looking up birth records, genealogical info, etc because of the Mormon church which has a strong presence in Independence, and they are heavily into that for religious reasons.

The branch has lots of resources and expertise as a result.

This site is good, too. It has death records available from 1910-1958. Very interesting and useful resource for death records.

Missouri Digital Heritage : Death Records Certificates
This site has some census records, too. It's not complete, but it's good, and free.

Default GenWeb site for Jackson County

The Missouri GenWeb sites do a great job of providing links to information regarding their county. I know - I coordinate the Howell County GenWeb site.

Here's a link: Welcome to Jackson County, MOGenWeb

I'm Looking for the Moore/Nicholson Family that lived in Jackson Co. Missouri in 1870. THey had a partnership with W. J. Sames and B. F. Nicholson that ended up moving to South Texas in 1893. Where did all these folks go and where did their parents die. I know James Moore's Father was a school teacher and tax collector for jackson county in the late 1800's

Default Moore/Nicholson

There is a George W. Nicholson, died 12/2/1873 and a John R. Nicholson, died 11/10/1871 and a Phila V. Nicholson, died 8/20/1870 all buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Jackson County.

I found four James Moore burials in Jackson County. One is listed as "colored" and the other as white. Both are in Leeds Cemetery, Kansas City. You'll find the death certificates at the site given in a post above this. Both died in the late 1920s.

Another is a James Thomas Moore, Birth: Feb. 1, 1847 Kentucky, USA Death: Aug. 8, 1925 Kaw Jackson County Missouri, USA Retired Railroad man. son of Jack and Husband of Margaret. He is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence.

The fourth is James W. Moore, born 1896, died 1925. He is in Forest Hill Cemetery in Kansas City.

You can do some searching on your own at Find A Grave - Millions of Cemetery Records.

Found a William J. Sames, born 1840, died 1908 buried in Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. Mr. Sames tombstone simply has dob, dod, his name and the word FATHER on it. It's in Hutchinson Eastside Cemetery.

Sames is an uncommon name. I could find only 7 W. Sames in the United States.

Here's a death record. Is this what you are looking for?

FamilySearch Record Search

James Roberto Moore
Parents listed as "Alexis Moore" and "Oldham"
James died March 8, 1927 in Loredo, Texas

You can print a copy of the death certificate at that site for free. It shows he was born March 23, 1871 in Jackson County, Missouri. Both of his parents were born in Kentucky
Hard to read the handwriting on the death certificate that shows what he died of.
