Plains10 are you moving to the New Hampshire area? I lived in Maine all of my life and if you like the ocean and mountains and alot of snow and a fast paced life that is the place to be. It is absolutely gorgeous there. And the lake Winnipausakee area is nice also. The cost of living is OUTRAGEOUS. It's the rich life up there. Everything here in Missouri is much cheaper by half. Sorry to talk about other States in a Missouri forum.

Well, my family are also fairly recent transplants to NH. They had lived in E Kansas near the KC metro for many years. I am looking forward to moving to be closer to family again. Many people think that NH is part of the urban "East Coast" corridor when in reality most of the state is rural, wooded, and mountainous.

At least NH does not have a state income tax or sales tax FOR NOW. Hopefully that will not change. Housing and property taxes are higher, but finding a town with lower taxes is not too hard. Heating costs are higher, but alternate heating sources are quite popular. A pellet stove seems to be the new thing I guess.

Yes, I heard the pellet wood stoves are quite popular now. When I lived in Maine we had K1 which was really high. If you move there dont forget to go see the old man in the mountain it has collapsed and that was making alot of healines when I was moving. Would like to know how it looks now or if they are rebuilding it. It was great that they had no state income tax, we always use to cross over to Nh for shopping. I hope your move goes well if you decide to move there. I do miss it but, my home is now in Missouri.

it looks to me like a microcosym of much of america. People seem to me to be very eager to pass judgement. I have lived in the city south saint louis to be exact. I would much rather live in potosi with the poor people riches eat your flesh like a cancer. I live in rual washingtown county I prefer to live in the this part of the state. It is very scenic and I love to be in the woods. I own a house in the city and had roberies and murders on a regular basis. I am not joking at all. Crime can happen anywhere. If you do not have a drug problem pray for those who do. Just a thought.

Default Potosi mo

My friend has a home (cottage style) home in Potosi. It is on a lake.
I wish he would sell it, since he lives 2 hours from it.
