Not even close. We have too many tornadoes - last night we had tornado watch #741 - THIS YEAR - just for my little part of southwest MO and then a tornado warning around 11pm.

Where are you from? We have had only a couple warnings and a few more watches here Joplin. Are you counting counties combined? If that is for one county (the one you live in) that would be over 92 watches a month (3 per day) if the count started Jan. 1st, which is not tornado season. That # is way to high to be one area.

Every tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service for a particular region has a number. Listen to a weather radio or check the NWS page when one is issued.

In southwest Missouri there are countless tornado watches, warnings, severe thunderstorm watches and warnings each year. Most people probably don't even notice or hear them. I worked in broadcasting for many years and they are numbered for a specific area.

Newton County had a tornado warning on Wednesday night; so did McDonald County.

You may only remember "a few" watches and warnings this year but there have been many more.
