Oak Grove MO (Jackson, Diamond, Foster: high school, to live, farm)

I was wondering if any one out there is from Oak Grove? My Grandfather and Uncle lived there, My Grandfather died many years ago, however my Uncle continued to live there. I lived there in my early teens then we moved to CA. I have lost touch with the people there and I hoped someone could give me info on my relatives. My mother died 8 years ago and she never told me much about my ancestry. Thanks in advance for any help.

I went to highschool in Oak Grove (eastern Jackson County) but I haven't been back since the early 90's and I no longer have family there. My understanding is that the town is growing rapidly.

I wouldn't be much help getting current information about individuals.

Thank you for your replies. The Oak Grove I am talking about is just outside KC. I didn't know there was more than one Oak Grove in MO, you learn something new everyday.

The family name is Smith. Kinda common huh? My grandfathers name was John Pleasant Smith. My Uncles names was Eugene (Gene) Smith, his wife was May and they had 5 kids: Frank, Sammy, Raymond. Cheryl and Janet. My Grandfather lived in town and my Uncle had a farm just outside of Oak Grove. He eventually sold the farm and moved into town. Thanks for responding.

Well with a place that small I am sure your people knew mine and vice versa.
Don't know the ages but I do have my moms class pictures from the grammer school in Diamond. Small school but really good pictures. 1938 - 1932.

my Uncle would have went to school back in the early 30's. His kids went to school there back in the 50's 60's and 70's.

My family is from oak grove and surounding areas.I dont know the exact history about Woodson A. Foster HE is one of my family that knew Jessie,Frank and the others.A lot of my family was involved .But Woodson is my great grandfather.Any one know any history on him?
