North East Of The State Towns ??
Hello everyone!
Could anyone please tell me the names of towns, cities on the north east part of the state.
Also, are they affordable, safe?
Which of theses towns are affected the least by TORNADOES?
Thank you so much for your help!

I grew up in LaPlata, a small town south of Kirksville, in the 40's and 50's. I still own the family home and we, and my sons, use it for a vacation home.
The area was a great place to live. Albeit very removed from anything.
When we return we are treated like family although we've been gone for 50+ years.
We would return tomorrow were it not for the cold, cold winters and the distance to complete medical services.
Not knowing what your wants and needs are, I hestitate to make any recommendations.
There has been only one tornado that I can recall.
If you have any questions you think I could answer feel free to contact me.

You have Hannibal where Mark Twain hails from. Great town on the Mississippi with Quincy, Illinois not far from there. Great area to be. Prices in NE Missouri towns are quite reasonable and you can build new for almost half of what it cost in St. Louis County. Other cities in NE Missouri that I've been in and like are Clarksville, Bowling Green and Louisiana (actually looks like a quaint southern town. Like the other poster said, just google Hannibal, MO and look at the map. I would consider those areas as being very safe and have not heard of too many tornado horror stories there, usually farther south, although last year we did have a severe wind storm that caused a lot of damage from around Troy east through parts of Illinois.

Palmyra MO is a nice small town with a great school system. It's about half way between Quincy IL and Hannibal MO so you can commute to either town for work. There aren't many jobs in Palmyra itself though.
