I used to have a 45-mile commute that took an hour, creating ten hour days. Very wearing. My kids were grown so I found a solution to help conserve time and money. I worked for an upscale travel company and offered my services to "house sit" for clients who traveled extensively. It cut my commute from an hour to five minutes, added money to the coffers. Hubby would come in to the city every other weekend, and if clients agreed, I would go home on the alternate weekends. Since I could pick and choose when and where I would house sit, it was a perfect solution.

How many of you are self employed?

Well.
Up until quite recently I was employed in a management position with a hospitality-related company in Branson. However, in order to return to the real estate industry, I have taken a job as a office manager for a REALTOR in the area. I also do insurance inspections (self employed).
My husband is an entertainer, but when he is not performing he manages our homestead and improves our property values.

Thiough I am not officially a resident of Missouri again, I have already started to trasition in my profession.
I am an interior designer, which makes me rather portable.
I just got my first Missouri commision, a high end restaurant/bar in Perry County, gives me an out to visit my brand-new Missouri property, its about 20 miles from said commision.
