Years ago, I often at a place called Gypsy Jan's pizza in Wentzville, Missouri. They had some of the best pizza .... I am desperately trying to find out what happened to this place (or even a recipe for their pizza!). It closed down years ago. Did it open somewhere else? Is the family still around somewhere and maybe I could buy a bunch of pizza's from them?

Anyone have any information?

You could also try contacting the Wentzville Chamber of Commerce for some feedback - if get lucky, someone may have the knowledge and be able/willing to share such. Good luck.

I searched switchboard.com and yellowpages.com without success. You might also want to contact the St. Charles City-County Library system at About the Library (http://www.youranswerplace.org/library_office/index.html - broken link). See if the main branch has back issues of phone books that include Wentzville, and compare (or have a librarian compare) them to the current phone book.

Doing this plus contacting The Wentzville, Missouri Chamber of Commerce will hopefully help. Best of luck to you!

Default Gypsy Jan's Pizza

Jan and Ron (cannot remember their last name) operated the original Gypsy Jan's Pizza out of what was until recently (When new Justice complex was built on new Rd) the 2nd police station or basement of the city hall across from the Lutheran Church.
When the city bought the property they moved out old 61 next to Ford dealer and Boland Tire. This is where I met them. I worked part time for Marty Boland at the tire store. This was around 1980 or 81. The whole complex is gone now. This was across street from the American Legion hall. They closed the store around 82 or 83 maybe even 84.
Ron and Jan lived on Meyer Rd in town at bottom of hill on corner at stop sign.
A few years later, they built a factory in Hawk Point, off 47 between HP and Troy. I wired up phone lines and music for the place. It wasn't large, it has since became a welding shop. Ron ran a frozen bix in back of his truck and sold frozen or half bakes for several years before they shut down. I know age was getting the best of them and it was tough for Ron to run those routes all the time.
I was living in Troy at the time, but lost track of them after I moved to Florida for a new job. That was in 97.
I've driven by their home since then but have not recognized anything there so did not stop.
