I think I just saw a pig fly by my window......we actually agree on something, quelle horreur!
You should actually go to the brewery/winery, its beautiful, and the cuisine is top-notch, not to mention locally sourced.

That area intrigues me. Just my weirdness, but I love river communities. Definitely on my places to go list.
I'm not as insufferable an arrogant as you think I am. For better or worse, I'm just very opinionated and don't hide it.
I think we agree on a lot of things, and probably have a lot in common. You just don't know it. Yet.

I really do recommend you go to the area, its really, really lovely. We moved there when I was 10, and my family has been there forever.....just DONT tell the locals I sent you, they might not let you leave, and I mean that in a good way.
Perhaps the abrasiveness between us is because I am very opinionated also........
As far as having a lot in common, you will just have to show me........

Without going into a thread hijack. Too start off with both of us make a living in the arts. Artists tend to be compassionate, yet opinionated pricks (at least I am) But given the chance, you would give the shirt off your back to someone that needs it. You also seem to be fairly well educated. I'm I close?

Kshegal and DP - there is a good example, IMHO of an 'outsider' and a 'native' getting to know one another... 'tis been a long, hard, rough road, but here ya go, finding out similarities just might outweigh their differences.
Next up, we will find out how OB finally comes to grip with his missing tooth, as a dentist from California gives him a new set of dentures [for free!] during halftime at a local high school football game.
Kumbah yaaaaaa...

I lost a tooth in a bike wreck. No insurance at the time. It took me about two months to come up with the cash to have it fixed. In the meantime I was walking around like a backwoods redneck.
The saving grace was that I was hanging around with Mick Foley (the wrestler) Back in the day when he was still in the wccw. He made toothless look cool.

THE POST I WANTED TO PUT THIS IN WAS DELETED (what's missouri "really" like)so it may seem out of place but here's just a little piece of my mind.....
As far as missouri goes i think it just depends on if you grew up in the city or the country. I lived in the rural northern missouri until i was six and moved into central kansas city, mo. People in kansas city didn't care if you were gay, asian, PURPLE whatever..... as long as you were nice to people, people were generally nice back. I've lived in Columbia and st. louis too, and the same can be said for those places. Even the rural places i've been in missouri aren't THAT bad, however there ARE some pretty scary places in the very remote areas of the ozarks. And yes there are a lot of Christian hate groups out there but they are pretty muchModcut and anyone of any REAL INTELLIGENCE pretty much ignores them. With all that being said I live in Florida now and left my beloved missouri behind and i will have to say as far as RACISM is concerned-FLORIDA probably being one of the most diverse states in the Union is FAR MORE racist than our fellow Union counterparts in Missouri.....not trying to dog FL down but just using it as an example.
All in all what I really want to say is that I grew up in Missouri pretty much my whole life, and being a minority(gay), I never really had any problems there. I also consider myself fairly intelligent as well so I steered clear of the retarded people and close-mindedness that exists in ALL SOCIETIES. So let me break it down for you....if you're a smart person who is wise, witty, likes to drink wine and eat great steaks and barbeque, then let the good times roll! Missouri has everything you could possibly want, but if you want to be dull, retarded, sad, and ignorant you are completely entitled to that WHEREVER YOU ARE. Life is about choices and you can be happy wherever CHOOSE to go.
