When you say ice storm, do you mean freezing rain? It doesn't have to be very cold for freezing rain. I think the temp needs to be just below freezing. So the answer is, Yes, Missouri gets ice storms.

Freezing rain and ice storms are two total different events.
We get a fair share of freezing rain which slickens the roads and causes minor problems.
An ice storm is a major event in which the ice comes down so fast and thick that it coats trees, power lines, TV antennas, and anything else. Then these things begin to break - broken power lines equal power outages, broken tree braches equal broken roofs, smashed garages, cars, etc....

Big difference between freezing rain and an ice storm.
I swear there are more terms for weather than I can remember!

Probably.That Doe has been around for years got Pics of her inside the Cabin.Had an Icechest out on the Porch she got into it and was eating Lunch Meat.
See her out in the woods she will run from you but at the Cabin she is a Big Spoiled Baby.

The ice storm that hit SE MO near Dexter was the worst I've ever seen. I drove on Hwy 60 from Sikeston to Dexter, and almost every power pole was snapped off about 3 feet from the ground and the trees all have yet to recover--my g-mother was out of power for a month.
