When do the leaves fall.....in the fall?? (Ozark, Warsaw: live, safe)

We're looking at land on the south side of Lake of The Ozarks, and want to tour the land after the leaves have fallen, so we can see the lay of the land better. Any idea of when most of the leaves will be down this year?

That can vary a lot but by Thanksgiving, you would be pretty safe to assume all the leaves will have fallen. It's really difficult to predict with any accuracy - some leaves (on a walnut up the street from me) have mostly fallen while others are just starting to turn AND fall.

In the area where we live the leaves may still be on the trees during deer season (hunting season). Which is the middle of November. As joetownmom posted, it really is hard to predict with any accuracy. Weather, wind, temperature, etc. all play an important part. Good luck with your quest. Check with local Realtors.

They are already starting to fall. I definitely have a lot more leaves on the ground now than I did just 3-4 days ago. I would give it at least a few weeks. ditto joetown, very good point that some leaves drop while the leaves on other trees are just starting to change color.

Leaves will be mostly down by early November. They are at their height of color now and during the next week. From there it is all Fall......so to speak. Part of it depends just how far S. of the Lake one is searching. Get very close to the Arkansas line and the hardwoods change to pines and it won't matter much what time of year one looks at property. Lay of the land will be hills, and more hills.

..for the replies. The area we are looking is at Forbes Lake of Ozarks, near Edwards, or just east of Warsaw. We decided to visit the weekend of Nov 14th.. Anybody know anything about Forbes?

Be certain to wear HUNTER ORANGE if you are planning to be out and about near the woods/fields of the Ozarks; especially on November 14th, as it is the opening of Missouri deer season for firearms!

..for the reminder, Mogal. I was sorta wondering about that too 'cause deer season in Michigan starts the same day. However, there is no hunting in the Forbes development so we should be alright. When we were there last month we did see plenty deer and turkeys.
