Yea Jobs are hard to find but I think you would have a better chance in Lebanon than Buffalo.
But then again I've been close to the people around the area for 40 years.

Yep, Buffalo closed the Petit Jean plant, so finding a job there is no better than Lebanon. The Unemployment office is sending people to Fort Leonard Wood for any jobs, all the plants in Lebanon have layed off, mostly boat plants, but Copeland is the only place still goin as far as very much manufacturing, Tracker still goin, but....no new jobs.........Again, as someone with manufacturing experience, there are no jobs in Lebanon at this moment. Nice place to visit or vacation, but to live here leaves much to be desired unless already set up here. Even housing is stagnant right now, as with many other places

Nope, you haven't been lately have you, the Outlet Mall and some manufacturers are year round, only seasonal jobs are the marinas and small eateries and such dependent upon boating, its grown like Marshfield and even Spfd, while Lebanon and the smaller towns haven't, even the construction jobs are only down for the winter months, Woodland Scenics BudAlan Plastics, Precision, and some other plants are year round employment, used to be in the old days nothing but seasonal, but its diff lately. And since the wealthier city folks come down there instead of far off travel due to economics, that has helped even more. Not to argue or anything, am from Leb but lived at the lake until 08
you are right bout the hospital though, but that hospital in Leb has gotten a bad rep, many many bad stories, just like the old days, if you ain't dyin, git to Spfd or the Lake hospital, much better care

Well none of the ones you listed are hiring they are laying off.Plus the only way to get on is through Temp Service. My wife was working at Modine got Let go,then went to Bud Allen got Laid Off.She is now working for Production Products in Buffalo.$8 an hour no Benifits, treat her badly and everyone else because they know they are the only Job around.
She has been trying to get on at the Hog Processing Plant in Pleasant Hope.

Lebanon--lived there for 10+ yrs. and still have family there. It's an OK place, but I discourage anyone with kids already started in school from moving there until their kids are finsihed with high school. They do NOT accept outsiders very well in the schools--speaking from experience as both kid and former teacher there. Teacher turnover is VERY high for many reasons, put it that way, too.
Lebanon is very nice for visiting, love and miss Bennett's Spring State Park. Many nice outdoors areas nearby, too. Lebanon is a great place to live if you want to live in the Lake of the Ozarks but can't afford properties there. It's close enough to Springfield to be convenient when you want real shopping and decent grocery selections.
The job market is DEAD--previous poster was right--the unemployment office is sending people everywhere else they can. If you are retired and religious, Lebanon is a great fit, no doubt. Do not try to live there if you are not a Bible-lover, or if you are of any non-traditional lifestyle--you'll be miserable and most likely mistreated once the locals find out. DM me if you want examples.
One nice thing though, is that the Cowan Community Center is now free for use to the public (you had to pay membership before). Can't say I know of many towns that offer that (nor that I've reserached it much lol!) Summary: weigh your options well before moving to this place...
