True ... not sure. I'd say it's more classism as I am assuming that you would not be thinking that if he was not dressed that way. But then the question arises - would you be just as thoughtful if a white guy dressed thug-like were walking behind you? I guess there is a bit of a race issue there, with all of us. Just as a black guy might be more thoughtful if a white guy with a shaved head and a wife-beater was behind him - rather than a white guy in a suit.

Here is an interesting twist. What if you are white and are hanging out or walking through an all-black area of town. Is it racist to be more concerned about your safety?

Is it racist for a black person to worry about his safety if he happens to be hanging out in an all-white trailer park?

It's a fun issue.

But back to my premise, on an individual level ... I sincerely do feel that it is much more about personality. I dislike all low-life white/black/spanish/asian people equally . I like all the good white/black/spanish/asian people equally.

20 some black males are facing charges for selecting white and hispanic victims to attack in Denver, does that mean the whole state of CO is racist? Imagine if Jewish person cut me off in line at Walmart.. by that standard it would mean all Jewish people who shop at Walmart cut in line (actually, I would never shop there unless it was the only thing in town but it was just an example). There is also such a thing as misperception. One man's perception of something does not make it so to begin with. I have a relative that has someone else to blame for every problem he's ever had.

Second: For something to be prejudiced, it first has to be based on untrue stereotyping. Consider the following statistics

Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit a robbery.

Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanic.

Blacks are seven times more likely to go to prison, Hispanics three times,.......

A white person followed by a black man is statistically at much greater risk (at least 39 times higher) than a black person followed by a white man. However, sometimes a quantitative analysis doesn't account for specific details. If anyone who seems dangerous is following anyone at night, I'd recommend they get to safety asap. Certainly there is no shortage of white undesirables either. However, if my doctor told me I was 39 times more likely to get cancer from smoking than non-smoking, I wouldn't just plug my fingers in my ears and refuse to believe it is of any significance.

Yet you always hear the so called "leaders" of the Black Community saying that "we must stop Black on Black crime" so I guess continued crime against whites is ok"?
Why is it that those "leaders" tend to be racist themselves..........

Those black leaders are nothing more than charlatans ready to pull the race card out of the deck when the see a financial payoff to themselves.

If any white guy pulled of stunts like Jackson and Sharpton and their ilk, they would ostracized and categorized as racists.
