Smile How to get to Warrensburg

Hello,

I'm writing from Brasilia, Brazil. We're planning to go to Warrensburg, Missouri in May and would like to know the directions from KC Int'l Airport to Warrensburg. We're planning to rent a car. This is a sentimental visit for I was a student at CMSU in the 70s. Also, B&B suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks indeed for your time and attention.

How exciting for you! I would go to either MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map or www.aaa.com redirect to map it out for yourself. You can print out directions and a map. It's about an hour drive.

Don't take 435, that's such a boring and un-impressive first impression of KC and Missouri and that's probably how most map programs will tell you to go. Just take I-29 south to US-71 south.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,1.229095&z=10

You can stop in downtown at Jack Stack (take 22nd St Exit of 71 and go west to Wyandotte) for some great bbq. Or you can stay on US-71 and take the Cleaver Blvd exit and go west to Paseo where you will find a Gates. This is a totally safe area in the daytime, but if you are passing through the city late at night or something, I would go to the Downtown area instead of the Cleaver location, it's not the best area at night. There is also a Jack on the Plaza. You can take the Volker Blvd exit off 71 and go west to JC Nichols. There is also a Gates in Midtown at Linwood and Main.

Then you just go back to 71 and take it south to US-50 / I-470 and just follow the US-50 signs all the way to Warrensburg.

That way you will see the city and taste some real KC bbq too! Enjoy!

Gates is more of a fast casual bbq place, but its a KC bbq institution and a must visit. Jack Stack is more of a sit down place, but has great KC bbq in neat locations.

I would take I29 to I435 then hiway 350 go through Raytown, stay on 50 highway through Lee's summit and it is a direct route to Warrensburg. There are 2 exits to Warrensburg, one by the old cemetery, then hwy 13 .

Agreed, that is the most direct route.

Another would be I-70 East to Hwy 13 (Higgensville) and S. on Hwy 13 (2 lane).
