Default Detailed Map

we are looking for "home" in Missouri ......and each post here I have to go find the area on a map ......

then I look at home searches and job searches and yep again looking at a map ...

is there a map online that shows the little areas as well as the big areas? If so can you guide me there ...

I have found county maps but counties can be bigger than what one expects ......... and thats a large range as well

I want to see Ava ... marshfield............ and all the small towns along with the big ones ..

I use Yahoo MAPs you can go in or out on the map and see much of the area as well as dragging the map left or right and can see where all the towns are. Hope this works for you!

Go answer Jcoon. You go to www.yahoo.com and click on maps. You can also look in mapquest at www.mapquest.com. There are quite few places you can look online for maps.

Of course, there is always mapquest.com if you just want find a location. If you want to see the trees, landscape and road labels, too, go to maps.live.com. Choose the 'hybrid' type to see both landscape and road labels at same time. You can pan around and see how the countryside around an area looks, find baseball fields, stuff like that. If you have a newer computer and high speed connection, Google Earth is wonderful for zooming in on the actual houses/neighborhoods (closer than maps.live.com). Hope this helps!

I liked Google earth, you can really see the town. Also if you go to the towns chamber of commerce, you can see pics of the town you choose.

The one map/program I have found very useful in checking out, and comparing different areas is

Neighboroo - Neighborhood Information for Real Estate and Marketing

I like to put mapquest in one window, and neighboroo in another.

I use Microsoft "Streets and Trips". It's not a free mapping program but it is SO worth the money to me. It has all the counties labeled, and country boundaries, and individual towns. You can measure distances from anywhere to anywhere right on the map just by clicking and using the measuring tool.

Just a thought! Hope this helps.

Google Earth is AWESOME! My kids loved it . They were in awe when they saw the house we live in now. It was great to see the excitement in their eyes. Thanks for the tip tigerlilly
