Since Missouri is so located so far south the majority of the bodies of water in the state are reservoirs For good freshwater oligotrophic lakes that are not reservoirs you have to go to Minnesota and Wisconsin.

If I could live in Missouri it would probably have to be near Columbia or in the city itself. There are not many cities in northern Missouri, and the central location of Columbia as well as all the entertainment, educational, and cultural offerings make it a good spot to live.

Southern Missouri has some of the best reservoirs in the country. Northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin have some of the best lakes. I like visiting both areas!

I'm pretty darn partial to Lake of the Ozarks! Planning on spending the rest of our lives there....when you come from Tucson a frog pond would look like a lake!!

I'd choose right where we are on the shore of Table Rock Lake in a somewhat, but not too, isolated community.

Oh Yeah! That's right where we are now. Imagine that.

It's perfect!

Somewhere along Lake of the Ozarks. I have family (and childhood memories) in Camdenton. I'd have to research the lake situation before deciding for sure. Looks like Osage Beach is the epicenter of boat traffic and the further away, the more peace and quiet -- I dunno, maybe somewhere up the Niagra arm?

I love NW Missouri, most of the small towns there and the areas of more rural farming communities.

It's funny, no matter how I've tried to find a place in S. Mo. I keep ending up looking back up north. Not a lot of work around there but we managed when we lived there and I was happy.
