If you could live anywhere in Missouri?
If you could live in any city or town in Missouri you wanted, where would it be and why? Forget about your current occupation it's not a limiting factor.
What city or town would you absolutely refuse to live in and why?

I haven't seen every town or city in Missouri. But, I saw Springfield and love it. It is just the right sized town for me, and it seems peaceful and safe. Housing prices and cost of living are attractive, though probably no more so than for many other Missouri towns. I am tentatively planning to retire in Springfield in a couple of years, when I qualify to retire.
I would absolutely refuse to live in those neighborhoods of St. Louis that are afflicted with unusually high crime.
I would have a tough time getting a job in my current occupation anywhere in Missouri. That's OK because I am really close to retirement anyway!

I choose Joplin Missouri. Why, a gut feeling I guess. It's a cute town with nice people, and I already purchased a place there. I searched the United States for nine months looking for a reasonable economy and a comfortable community. Spent only 5 days there in April and figured what the heck. Gotta make a decesion and it felt good... so I did. I think it's exciting stepping out of a comfort zone and moving into a new environment. I think making changes in our lives, keeps us on our toes. Perhaps it makes us feel better...a new beginning. Wionee

happy as a clam here just south of the city of Nixa. Everything we need fairly close by, very nice people, no crowds, great schools, courteous drivers, Springfield is not too far away, Branson right down the road, lotsa wildlife running around (in southern CA the only wildlife we saw was the neighbor's cat constantly poopin' in our planters) and the nearest neighbor is 100 yards away! Luvin' it here!!

Oh No Cat poopin'... I have neighbors that let there dog use my yard for a bathroom and don't pick it up. Even I have complaint nicely to the owners. They just turn their head when the dogs get busy.:0( I sure would like to see picture of Nixa soon.

Anywhere in the Ozarks, where the sun can set over a field rimmed by some rolling hills, the sounds of a clear running stream burbling over some boulders, pines and oaks and cedars and walnuts and hickory and maples and dogwoods dance in the soft wind, as sit on the porch sipping my sweet tea or a microbrew with some BBQ ribs or a few baked catfish caught from the pond out back teasing my olfactories, while my clothes from latest caving adventure are drip drying, the boy childs are playing w/ the black lab & flat coated retriever, and then when such a trip tickles my fancy, to be w/in a ~2 hour or so from Springfield or St. Louis so can catch some concerts, festivals, sports, shopping, etc.
Where does such exist? pfffffffffttttt,,, I ain't tellin'!!!

I thought this might be a fun thread just to hear why everyone chose to live where they did. What drew them to that area and if they are still happy there. Thank you to those that did reply.

Liberty is a nice city....not too far from KC. It's clean, safe, and has a good school system.
