Texas And Shannon County
I am seriously looking to buy in Texas or Shannon County. I would like to find a realtor that you have used and liked and trust. I need to find a realtor that is willing to work with me from out of state. So can you recommend a excellent realtor?
Thank You
Karey

Here is the name, e-mail address and phone number of our realtor. She worked so hard for us. We couldn't have gotten the home that we did if it wasn't for her and her hubby. We live in Michigan and she worked as if we already lived in MO. Their office is in Houston, which is in Texas county. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Carrie in the office is wonderful too. We highly recommend them. Let them know that Jim and Kim recommended them. The people from Michigan.

I have traveled through these areas of southern Missouri before. Both Texas and Shannon counties are located in an area covered partially by the Mark Twain National Forest. These two counties are very remote and are severely lacking in non-farm employment. West Plains is the nearest larger town, and Springfield is the nearest bigger city. Texas County has 23,556 residents as of 2006 and Shannon County has 8,506 residents as of 2006. According to the census data both counties have poverty rates above 20% as of 2004. It is a very beautiful area but non-farm jobs are in short supply in the area. You would have to ask someone else about a realtor in the area if you are looking at buying a house in that area.

Some additional information:
The Texas County seat is the town of Houston.
The Shannon County seat is the town of Eminence.

Info
Are you considering other areas besides Shannon and Texas counties? Marshfield and Lebanon are slightly larger towns, but are located closer to the Springfield metro area and near interstate 44. Also, Marshfield is not too far removed from Springfield and some people commute to work there.

I was told by some people in the thread that Lebanon do not like outsiders. So that is why I not thinking about that town since Marshfield is close to Lebanon that it is probably the same way as well. I have kids to think about. I don't have to worry about working since I am stay at home mom right now. I might work in the future. My husband has to travel to get work. So it really doesn't matter. Looking online that I am able to get a house with acre, pond, barn for under $100,000
