Default Carrollton area

Hello all, I'm considering a move to the Carrollton area from Arkansas. Anyone have any thought to share about this area? Thanks.

Carrollton is the county seat of Carroll County Missouri. The southern portions of the county are right near the Missouri River. The total population of the county is around 10,000. The county is to the east of the KC metro area, but is fairly rural in character. Non-farm employment has declined between 2000-2004 with only around 1,881 non-farm jobs as of 2004 according to the census data. The home prices should be affordable in the county because Carrollton is in a rural area.

Carrollton has gotten bigger over the last year or so and industries are starting to pop up. So if you want low housing costs with quality, better get em while you can. Oh and the "estimated" population for Carrollton is totally wrong. It's a little over 5,000 and growing. God Bless.

I read a story in the past couple of months that a utility wants to build a coal plant SW of Carrollton in the town of Norborne. This will definitely create a lot of controversy in the coming months from parties on both sides of the issue.
