Default Terry Family

Checked some genealogy sources for you and found the Terry family on the 1920 and 1930 Federal Census living in Cooter.

1920:
Melvin H. age 36
Lona L. age 35
Hautie M, age 15
Clorine, age 9
John age 6
James age 6
Susie, age age 3
Melvin infant
Elmer Travis - a boarder, age 30.

Melvin died of tubercluosis in November of 1920.

In 1930 Lonie is listed as a widowed head of household.

Lonie L Terry, age 45,
Hautie M Terry, age 25
Clorine O Terry, age 19
John R Terry, age 16
James W Terry, age 16
Susie I Terry, age 13
Melvin W. Terry, age 10 and
J. F. Wallace, age 41 who is a brother to Lonie and helped her on the farm. Lonie's occupation is listed as "farmer." Hautie and Clorine worked as telephone operators, John worked at a filling station.

You can find both Melvin and Lonie's death certificates online at the Missouri Digital Heritage web site. (Missouri Digital Heritage : Death Records Certificates

There are two for Lonie - one hand written and one typed. The first is difficult to read but the second is clear. She was just 46 when she died of chronic heart disease. The information on the death certificate was provided by her daughter, Mrs. S. L. Wagster, of Cooter.

If you do a search for last name Terry, in Pemiscot county you'll find several death certificates from the 30s, 40s,.

I also checked Wagster in Pemiscot county and did find two certificates. You can check them out for yourself.

I hope this info is of interest to you.
