Eldon Missouri Information
I'm trying to relocate to Eldon Missouri or at least close by as I will be going into Eldon daily.
Crime/Safety:
Judging by the populations of 4-5k I am going to assume it's fairly safe. I am coming from a town of 1800 people with virtually no crime and everyone feels safe. If I am wrong, let me know. A little crime is expected, but I really enjoy living in a small town.
Jobs:
I cannot find hardly anything on-line. I have no clue what the job situation is in Eldon, so what are the typical jobs, what kind of employers are there? I am looking for office/management positions (Business Admin. degree) so I realize I may have to commute...what are the closest cities with office/business work? I am not looking for a career (not sure how long I will be around after my year situation) so I am open to other opportunities near by with decent wage/salary.
Housing:
I also cant find any rentals online. If someone could me an idea of what the rental rates for apartments and housing in Eldon is...that would be great. Also any apartments names I might be able to contact or find more information online.
I'll leave it at that for now until someone in the area replies and I can ask some more specific questions. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I just went to Osage ..and I picked up real estate books at gas stations and restaurants ... let me look through them see if I can find any on Eldon. I know I seen that town name this weekend.

Thanks for the reply Deborah.
I haven't called the chamber yet, I figured they would just direct me to their website. The site is good, but it's hard to get a real idea of what they have to offer especially around the area outside of Eldon. I will give them a call this week and see what they can tell me.
I think I'm headed down the second week of July once I get vacation from work. I can only stay a day or two, but hope to find some good ideas of where to find decent work and possible rentals.

Try the eldon advertiser online. It has some rentals available. Good luck with the job search. I lost my job in December and am still looking. It is rough around here right now. Jefferson city isn't a bad commute. You'd probably have a better chance at a job there.

all main manufacturing places closed this last year, including the one new car dealership in town, if that tells you anything. Also, I believe this county has one of the highest ratio of sex offenders in the state, or so I heard. Its very close to Lake of the Ozarks, save yourself some trouble and just move a few miles there, there is more to do, and more opportunities, the thing to do is to live in Eldon and then work at the Lake, that would be the only benefit, IMHO

Seems to me most in Eldon either work in Jefferson City or California.I applied for a Job there one time driving a Truck.

Yes California has Cargill Turkey Plant and Burgers Smoked Hams.MFA is hard work but pretty good Job if you can get on.Only thing I have problems with California anymore is the Illegals.
I just thought Tipton has the Stride Rite plant.
Plus might get a Job with the Prison system either in Tipton or Jefferson City.
