Anyways, lets' get past this disagreement and focus on more important things, like whether Gray Maynard has the biggest head to body ratio in the history of MMA. If he had a normal sized noggin instead of that 35 pounds of skull and neck would he be a dominating featherweight?

i would say that head is the reason he KOed himself out against rob emerson.
he is one of those great wrestlers that has a long way to go with the rest of his skill set but it shows how good wrestlers transition into the fight world. quite the decision king too. grind it out and get those points.

"i mean JDS ddint go to decision with congo but cain did."
I'm still puzzling over what this means, or has anything to do with whether Silva has been fed guys to match his style.

i'm puzzled by what that means even regarding the Heavyweight division. that's the worst kind of MMA math, and would have thought that you would've known better, Rigas. that's even worse than the typical A beat B who beat C, therefore A will beat C. youre saying A beat B, but only won by decision, therefore C, who has never even fought B (did he?) deserves a title shot before/or is otherwise better than A...
c'mon Rigas. really?

also, i disagree that JDS has faced tougher competition - in the UFC anyway. i do agree though, that Damien Maia was not deserving of a title shot. in fact, i feel that Marquardt was sort of robbed. when Marquardt and Maia fought, i was under the impression that the winner would be facing Anderson Silva. and Maia got beat bad. and his next fight was against Silva for the title. and Marquardt went on to face Chael Sonnen. it doesnt make sense, and the fact that Silva had already beaten Marquardt does not justify the Silva - Maia title fight.

That Maia/Nate fight pissed me off because we were at a casino in Laughlin and I was coming back with beers to where they were showing the fight and missed it because of 20 seconds.

how can you say JDS has not faced better comp?
cains 6 ufc fights,
big nog (good fighter but beaten up and past it)
rothwell (ehhh he is OK)
kongo (pretty weak and nearly KOed cain 3 times)
stojnic (? ummm ok?)
obrien (3rd rate at best)
morris (who?)
JDS 6 fights in the ufc,
nelson (easily as good or better then rothwell)
gonzaga (good fighter with some holes)
yvel (maybe the best striker in the ufc, def the best kick boxer)
cro cop (a legend up there with big nog and in teh same boat as big nog)
struve (up and comer who is beating tough guys himself)
werdum (didnt that guy just submit possibly the best heavyweight of all time? )
looking at rankings, of the 6 fighters cain has faced, only 3 are ranked top 25, while of the 6 JDS has faced, 5 are ranked with yvel being the only one not top 25.

This is nothing but Fail. The title was suppose to be Silva v Belfort but Belfort got injured. Dana wanted to Have Sonnen be the replacement but he just fought the war with Marquardt and felt he wouldnt be 100% for the fight and declined. Maia was coming off the win over Miller, and was in fighting shape so he took the fight.
