This was the UFC's deal but they couldn't agree to terms. Rumor is that they wouldn't give up creative control of the events (commentary, intros, etc.). Now, they have an upstart promotion on a major network, in primetime, while the leading stateside MMA promotion is left on PPV and Spike!
I've been following Elite XC on Showtime and their events have been pretty solid IMO. Hopefully with the CBS deal they will get rid of their biggest problems (cheesy announcers, silly dancers, post-fight interviews, etc.).
