Some fighters are released when they have won their most recent fights (at least 3) in the UFC. But others with several loses in a row (at least 3) are kept in the UFC. That's BS. It doesn't make sense at all.

Popularity and profitability for the most part. Hence why McGregor was not disciplined for the bus attack, he makes the company too much money to suspend when he is willing to fight.

Take someone like Mighty Mouse, outstanding fighter, but in an unpopular weight division. So he doesn't make you much money. But you could get somebody like Ben Askren in return, who is relatively well known. Plus he is a welterweight and Dana hates Woodley with a passion, so he'll throw everyone he can into that mix until Woodley loses that belt.

Askren won't fight Woodley though, they're teammates.

Ever since WME bought it seems to haves lost something where the real fighters that earned their shot are turned down for "super fights" to get headlines and PPV buys instead of the best vs. the best in their division(s).

Thats it, its essentially WWE but with real contact and not a pre determined winner. I used to think Belllator was the WWE of MMA and UFC was the serious side. But at this stage Bellator is just being who it is and UFC mascarades as a serious MMA competition, but its secretly just the WWE now with all of the drama.
