This was the best UFC card I've ever watched. On paper it didn't look all that great. I went to a local hooters and watched it instead of paying the 44.95. I was very impressed though, great KO's, subs, brawling.
A couple of things:
Why did the ref in the Leben fight watch him tap then wait until he was near death before stopping the fight? Leben was flopping like a fish. I'm sure spike wont show that during the future replays. The dude that choked Leben out is a tough fighter but a total ass.
Is it me or is Brandon Vera the most irratating singles hitter in MMA? This dude just doesn't seem to want to let it go. Very cautious fighter for someone with so much skill.
How many more times will Dana White subject fans to a Keith Jardine brutal knockout loss? I'm going with 2.
It looks like Damien Maia needs to lock himself in a gym with Sugar Ray Leonard for the next year or drop to 155lbs. That dudes a tad soft.
I guess the guy that got knocked out in 7 seconds by baby Brock will assume the role as the new Cabbage Correia.
You're not being tough when you go out in a fight that you're already losing with a blown knee, it's retarded. Lets see, instead of a 4 month rehab, lets make that 12 months in exchange for showing how tough I am for 15 seconds.
The OldmanBowl was very entertaining. Neither of these guys has a remote chance of surving the gorilla, I mean Brock Lesnar but they're interesting. I'd like to see Randy against rampage at 205 and Nog maybe against any heavy besides Brock.

It is not the fighters job to stop the fight... The ref made a bad call blame him...
Agreed sucks that Vera doesn't let himself shine in the cage anymore...
I don't think Jardine is a bad fighter but much like Arlovski plagued by a terrible chin...
I think Randy and Nog have the right to fight still... They may never hold the title again but they are still pretty competitive and that was a good fight... Brock needs all the challengers he can get...

There is no doubt that Big Nog could catch Lesnar in a sub,he is only 33,Nog could very well be the champ soon.Fedor would kill anyone they have

Agreed. It's not like Nog hasn't ever faced (much) bigger fighters before.

Rule is you need to tap THREE times and he only tapped twice...Perhaps this will spark a rule change...

I spent about 10 minutes searching. UFC - Ultimate Fighting Championship - Rules and History is seems to be a little dated was the only creditable source I found. Maybe I stand corrected, I do remember it was a rule at one time and perhaps it's amended to give the ref's more control to stop or continue the fight.

I don't think there is a "defined rule" for the amount of taps that constitutes "giving up"... In training it is taught that you should tap multiple times and also tap your opponent and not yourself...
Sometimes it it hard to differentiate when someone is giving up or when they are just moving their hands to a different position... In the Rosholt Leben fight it was very clear he was giving up and should have been stopped immediately... This is the second judgment call that Lavigne has made that could seriously injure a fighter...
