Rigas,

Any idea how much the company makes per event (ufc, strikeforce, etc). Im curious how they put the value on the fighters? Based on that list, even the big boys are not making a killing. I see why Randy Couture is constantly fighting, hurt, sick or otherwise, he probably doesn't know when his next big pay day is coming.

God forbid one of those guys suffers a long term injury, i imagine Dana would just turn his back on them

in an interview i saw with dana, he hinted that the company was worth a little over a billion. they will never open their books or show exactly what kind of deal they have with PPV and so on but if it is worth a bil, and they do 12 shows a year, that would mean each show is worth 83 mil but this is not right, im making stuff up on that one lol.

where some fighters (ie randy/chuck/anderson......) make the real money, they get a % of ppv buys. rumors where that chuck (while champ) was making about 1.5-2 mil per fight on PPV buys plus his 250k salary. see some athletic commissions require UFC to release how much the gate was and the fighter payroll. to keep the numbers looking small to the commission (i think the commission will demand more in "tax" if they saw the real numbers) they dont pay much to the fighters or at least the good fighters.

what people pay in tax (irs numbers) are public record but they are very difficult to find.

if you read "got fight" by forest griffin he explains some of the "fight game". things like paying the corner men. he talks about his 1st fight, how he broke the guys leg on accident and the promoter just took the guy and dumped him in the alley out back. (tough man comp)
