If she can work under his visa it will take about 3-6 months to get her work permit.

All you have to do is google to get information about US insurance and designations/certifications. There are no processing centers in Mobile. She may be lucky and find a fulltime position of some sort. Does she want to leave your sister alone after school? Who will drive your sister to after-school activities?

There are no International Schools here (to my knowledge).
In my kids' school, there are quite a number of German kids. English is a relatively easy language to pick up. Most German kids are able to blend in a very short time. I don't think language is a big problem.

My sister is currently taking the school bus to go home and is not doing any activity this year (she used to do modern dance but she got tired of it) but well I hope that they could manage their schedule... And you are right if there will be some delay to get the work permit they will have some time to figure all that.
Fairhope seems very nice but maybe a little far (my father drives 5min to work and my mom 20min).
Well it's exciting so I hope my father will get a good job offer.

If your father's work is downtown (I have forgotten what the original post said), then it would be a 20-25 minute drive from Fairhope (in non-rush hour conditions). I'd suggest a safe area of midtown ... but yes Fairhope (although small and non-urban) is very, very nice.

If the commute is a problem I would definitely recommend Midtown. There some nice safe historical midtown neighborhoods such as Church street historic district ( around the Mobile Civic Center),Oakleigh district, Dauphin Street district,Leinkauf(Florence Place),Detonti Historic district downtown which is Mobile’s oldest(surviving) neighborhood with a little French flair to it and Creole cottages and all.
