This summer is excruciatingly hot!
I am thinking of tinting the windows of my sedan (before we leave for our roadtrip).
Any tips? Any recommended auto shop? Or can I DIY? What are good brands (some turn purple! Eeeks!)I googled that in Alabama, the tint has to let in minimum 32% of light.
Thanks in advance!

I don't care for extra tint but I drive a lot of used vehicles that have it. Avoid the cheap stuff. If you wear polarized sunglasses, some tints will make the outside world look like a bad LSD trip. Ask to see examples of their work.

I think our car could do with some more tinting. Think of how much sun exposure one gets from the front windshield as they drive around. The tint won't make you free of the UVA/UVB rays but it'd help more than NOT having it, imo. However, I've read that certain states and even local jurisdictions may differ from one another regarding the "degree of light" that comes through. I'm sure you can remove the film type of tint, if it turns out it's too dark but I don't think you'll get reimbursed for the cost of it.

Thks for replies. I didnt know about the polarized sunglass + tint effect. Thks for the headsup.
Yes, maybe I have sensitive skin. I started having this tender feeling on the skin just above my wrists from just driving my kids back from school at 3+pm. I reckon that is from the sun coming front windshield.
Now I spray sunscreen before I leave home. But I am sourcing for a better solution - I hate the feeling of coming back to an oven baked car after leaving for just a 5 min errand.
